The ‘Friends of Toddington Parish Church’ was formed with the purpose of uniting those who love this historic Church and would like to share in the task of maintaining it’s fabric and enhancing it’s beauty for future generations.
The ‘Friends of Toddington Parish Church’ is a registered charity with a legal identity separate from the Parochial Church Council. The funds raised by the Friends are used exclusively for the restoration and maintenance of the building of St. George of England Church, Toddington and will not be used to support the day-to-day running of the Church or it’s pastoral work.
The minimum subscription is £5 per annum per person, or £25 per annum for corporate members. PLEASE JOIN! Please telephone Mrs. Frances Brown who will be pleased to forward a simple Application Form to you.
The Aim
of the Mothers' Union is the advancement of the Christian religion in the sphere of marriage and family life.
The Purpose
of the Mothers' Union is to be specially concerned with all that strengthens and preserves marriage and Christian family life.
The Objects
1. To uphold Christ's teaching on the nature of marriage and to promote its wider understanding.
2. To encourage parents to bring up their children in the faith and life of the Church.
3. To maintain a worldwide fellowship of Christians united in prayer, worship and service.
4. To promote conditions in society favourable to stable family life and the protection of children.
5. To help those whose family life has met with adversity.
The Mothers' Union Prayer
Almighty God, our heavenly Father, who gave marriage to be a source of blessing, we thank you for family life, with all its joys and sorrows.
May we know your presence and peace in our homes, fill them with your love and use them to your glory.
Bless all who are married and every parent and child.
Pour out upon us your Holy Spirit, that we may truly love and serve you.
Bless the members of the Mothers' Union through the world, unite us in prayer and worship, in love and service, that, strengthened by your grace, we may seek to do your will, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
