Messy Ascension & Pentecost April 29th 2016

Today we remembered Jesus’ farewell to his disciples, and the promise he made to them that he would not leave them alone after he went back in to heaven.
And then Jesus was lifted up into a cloud and disappeared from their sight……
Making crowns with flames dancing above our heads.

Teatime with friends.

Happy smiley faces…. Taylor was excited about her christening the next day – congratulations to her and to her little brother Dylan who was also christened on 30th April 2016.

We made ‘clouds’ and coloured in a paper Jesus, which we then
attached to string so that he could be lifted into heaven through the
cloud.

He kept his promise
and sent his Holy
Spirit to guide and
help them live bravely
as his disciples.

We painted a dove – a symbol of the Holy Spirit, each person adding their fingerprint to the picture.

We decorated buns with sliced strawberries – they look like the flames which hovered above the disciples’ heads as they received the gift of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost.
