Wedding enquiries - please contact

If you would love to be married in Church then we would be delighted to hear from you.  If you live in Toddington or Chalton then St George of England is your parish church and you have a legal entitlement to be married here.  If you live outside the parish, or have been married before,  then it may still be possible to have your wedding here, please contact us to explore the various options which may be open to you.  More information about the legal aspect of a marriage service can be found on the Church of England website Your Church Wedding | The Church of England

The Church provides lots of help with the planning and preparation for the big day and beyond.  Once a date has been fixed in the church diary a series of preparation meetings will be arranged to ensure that your day is all that you dream it will be, and your marriage gets off to the best possible start.  We will pray for you and ask God to bless you in all your preparation and on your wedding day.

Many couples celebrate significant wedding anniversaries or special events by affirming their marriage vows in church.  And quite often, when a marriage took place in a registry office, a service of blessing is held as part of the celebration, on or near the wedding day, or several years later.   If a blessing or affirmation of vows is something you feel you'd like to do get in touch.

Your First Steps
• Please contact Rev Ian ([email protected]) he will forward an enquiry form for you to complete and return to him
• Once we receive your enquiry you will be contacted and invited to meet with the Rev Ian, who will explain how weddings in church are arranged and help you plan this special occasion.
• You will be invited to attend a Marriage Preparation session along with other couples marrying in the same year as you. It is a great chance to think about the challenges and joys of married life and to meet other couples planning their wedding day.
• A useful book for you to read is ‘Growing Together’ by Andrew Body (ISBN 978-0-7151-4241-7) available at local bookshops and on-line.
• For further information please take a look at the Church of England website weddings page.

Marriage with Children
We are happy to marry couples who already have children and, if appropriate, the children can be involved in the service.

Remarriage after Divorce
We welcome enquiries from couples wishing to remarry after divorce.
